At Gateshead Cycles we pride ourselves on having a bike available to suit almost any rider or purpose, from the very first bike for your kids, BMX bikes, commuter bikes and electric bikes, right through to competition level carbon fibre road bikes, triathlon bikes and mountain bikes for when you want to push it to the next level.
We are a 100% locally owned business who strives to cater to your every need. We pride ourselves on our friendly, personalised service and quality advice, whether you are an elite athlete, a weekend rider, or looking to get back into riding for health and fitness. Life is better on a bike, and we exist to make your cycling more enjoyable.
Our brands include GT, XDS, Cannondale, Mongoose and Felt.
Our professional workshop is equipped to service and repair all makes and types of bikes, and our friendly bike technicians are available for personal consultation regarding your requirements. We pride ourselves on the fact that customers are able to in most cases speak directly with the bike technician (mechanic) who will work on their bike.
We offer fixed rate services which include labour costs, all lubricants and minor workshop parts. Where replacement parts or repairs outside a standard service are required we discuss all items prior to proceeding, so that our clients are aware of any additional charges upfront. Minor repairs such as tube or tyre replacement can also be completed at the time of service, in some cases without additional labour costs.
As a further service to our customers we are happy to provide a basic assessment and estimate on the cost of repairs required to your bike prior to completing any work. This assessment is provided free of charge, and provides a guide to the likely costs involved. In some cases this may also include a recommendation as to the viability and cost effectiveness of repairs vs replacement options.
